Curtis Ross Jessop, 49, passed away on Aug. 15, 2009, at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, from an accidental fall from a ladder. Curtis was born in Logan, Utah, to Ross and Carol Jessop on April 19, 1960. Curtis loved working out on the family farm in Hyrum where he learned at a young age how to work hard and be dependable. When Curtis was young he also enjoyed hunting with his dad, his uncle Ray and his brother Rick. As he got older he continued his love for hunting with friends from work. Curtis graduated from Sky View High School where he worked hard in school and lettered in track. After graduation he went to Utah Technical College with desires to become a master electrician. Curtis would come home on the weekends to dry wall with his dad and brother so he could pay his way through school. After his studies at the college he went on to work at Logan Electric where he completed his apprenticeship. He stayed on with Logan Electric for a few years after which he began working for Tech Electric. He worked for Tech until he passed away. Curtis met the love of his life, Sheila Anderson, and married her on Dec. 2, 1988, for time and eternity in the Logan Temple. Curtis and Sheila had four children that were the pride and joy of his life. Curtis was a faithful man and was very dedicated to his family and worked hard to teach and help them as best he could. He encouraged each one of his kids to work hard and do their best in all that they did including showing lambs and other animals, working on the farm, orchestra, being Dairy Ambassadors and in their school work and extracurricular activities. Curtis was a singular individual and liked by all because of his kind, quiet and pleasant nature. He was well known for his strong work ethic, honesty and his desire to help others. He had a green thumb and took great pride in the care and upkeep of his yard and garden. He went to great lengths to take care of his family and farm where he could share with his children and wife his love for working with and caring for their animals. He was a hard worker and was very talented with his hands, being able to fix almost anything. One thing that his family will always remember is his large hands that were well worn and dirty from serving and helping others. When Curtis saw a need, he made sure it was met. Curtis is survived by his wife Sheila and their children, Megan, Katie, Clint and Craig; and his stepchildren, Roland and Kandi. He is also survived by his parents, Ross and Carol; his sister Leslie and her family; his brother Rick and his family; and his uncle Ray. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, in the Nibley 6th Ward Chapel, 360 W. 3200 South in Nibley. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and prior to services from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in the Millville Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at allenmortuaries.net.
