BRIGHAM CITY - Ray Packer Roskelley, 48, of Brigham City, Utah, passed away on Nov. 12, 2008, in the Intermountain Medical Center, Murray, Utah, of complications following a heart attack. Ray was born Jan. 14, 1960, in Logan, Utah, to Cyrel Dallas Roskelley and Faye Smith Packer. He was raised in Smithfield, Utah, and attended local schools, graduating from Sky View in 1978. He married Michelle Renae Laird in Smithfield on April 27, 1985, and they resided in Brigham City.

Ray worked at Utility Trailer in Clearfield for 15 years and was currently working for and with people who were close as family to him at Storm Products in Brigham City. Ray was a member of the LDS Church. Ray loved doing anything pertaining to the outdoors. He and Michelle loved taking their boys in his jet boat to Willard Bay, Mantua and Bear Lake; many life lessons were taught during those treasured moments. He loved hunting both deer and arrowheads at the same time, fishing and spending quality time with those he truly loved. Ray was a kind and generous person who always thought of others before himself and would sacrifice anything to help his family and friends.

Ray is survived by his wife, Michelle; sons, Colby (Amy) Woodruff, Garland, Tyson Ray Roskelley, Brigham City; one brother and five sisters, Mavis (Fred) Goyt, Port Orchard, Wash., Donna (Randy) Steed, Island Park, Idaho, Ilene (Gary) Crookston, Smithfield, Utah, Karole (Rodney) Sorensen, Mendon, Utah, Robert (Darla) Roskelley, Brigham City, Utah, Beth (John) Bennett, Wendon, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Mayce Joelle and Ellory Grace Woodruff; father- and mother-in-law, Elmer and Frances Laird, Norco, Calif.; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Ray's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Ogden Regional Hospital ICU, the Lifeflight crew, and the doctors and nurses at the Heart Trauma Critical Care Unit at Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City, especially Drs. Rasmussen and Reid. Also, thanks to all the friends and family who have shown us compassion and caring in our time of need.
